One of the latest heart rate monitors to be released by Garmin is the Garmin 310XT heart monitor. They have over the years taken major strides to establish themselves as one of the best if not “the best” in heart rate monitor manufacturers in this competitive industry. In the beginning of the third quarter in 2009 alone, they are poised to release two new heart rate monitors. These will be the Garmin 310 and the FR60 heart rate monitor. There is a lot of hope riding on these two monitors. To come out tops, Garmin monitors have to provide more than just heart rate reading. It has to have more features such as GPS to catch the eyes of prospective users. Here is a non biased review on the 310.

Second to None Global Positioning System

This Garmin GPS system is the first of its kind to be waterproof. It is the very first that can do this. For a triathlete, the Garmin 310 is ideal because you it has the ability to track cycling, swimming and running data. On this Garmin Heart monitor, the GPS system is second to none thus making it the ultimate tool for training. Pace and distance along with the heart rate are also kept track of. For the professional and elite athlete and even the average Joe, there are all the basics you will ever need. This monitor easily fits into any training routine or fitness regimen.

More Features

This Garmin heart monitor watch has a very high sensitive Global Positioning System that also comes with a fast satellite reception even when the user is around tall buildings and trees. The Connect™ system is what gives it that ability. With other monitors, communication and connection is made easier through the ANT+™ wireless technology interface. This works to for the foot pod and cadence sensor.

Downside

The 310 has hardly any problems associated with it. Top of the list for the Garmin 310XT heart rate monitor is that this heart monitor does not read heart rate data in the water even though it is waterproof. This is not a big problem. The second obvious downfall is size. This heart rate monitor is quite bulky. This is not a design flaw though because it allows for the 310 to sit on the handle bars of bikes.

Overall, the Garmin 310 is a great all round heart monitor that is sure to get any heart pumping. If you are looking to hit those hills, run those miles or swim a little further, the Garmin 310 GPS heart monitor is the perfect tool for you.
