There are more and more people enjoying a trip to the Spa.Taking some time out, relaxing and treating ourselves to a little TLC now and then is something we are being encouraged to do all the time. Spa days are a great way to do this and can be such a positive thing not just for your body but for your mind, providing you do them right. The best three tips for a smooth and enjoyable spa day are outlined here.

1.) Book far in advance. If you can arrange a day early then get on the phone and get it booked. This will not only mean you have a long time to plan your trip and get excited but will also mean you get the best treatments. Some therapists are assigned to the more specialist (and often better) treatments, so if these people get booked up then you will suffer from a restricted choice. Your choice of treatment times will be much better also if you get in quickly. This will allow you to break them up, leave a gap for lunch and get the order you want.  Ideally you want to book massages in the morning when therapists are fresh and facials in the afternoon when you can leave the products on for longer.

2.) Swim early. If you are planning on using the wet-side facilities during your spa day you are much better off using them in the morning. The sauna, jacuzzi, steam room and of course the pool will all be quieter then. Also, if you swim after your treatments you will wash off all the great skin care items and you’re skin will not get the full benefit.

3.) Get advice from staff. When you booking your treatments, ask the person at the spa for their advice on which treatment is best, based on your requirements. They will be well trained to give you good advice so listen to them. Likewise, get the most from the time spent with your therapist and ask for their advice on anything you’re unsure about. It would be very surprising if you didn’t learn something good as these people are involved in health and beauty every day of their lives.
